YWCA of San Diego County Receives Affordable Housing Program Grant For Becky's House II

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The YWCA of San Diego County received a $420,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco's Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grants. The grant, which is one of 80 projects that received funding in the first round of the competition will be used to complete Becky's House II, an 18-month transitional residential program for survivors of domestic violence and their children. The YWCA is the only agency in San Diego County to receive a grant award.

Announcing The New Vision and Direction of The YWCA of San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - For the past few months, the Board of Directors of the YWCA of San Diego County (YWCA) has been recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). That search has ended and the YWCA is pleased to announce that Casey Gwinn will be the new CEO effective July 1, 2007. The YWCA is also pleased to announce the hiring of a Chief Operating Officer (COO), Debra Zanders-Willis.

Planning Process Underway For Renovation/Re-use of YWCA Main Building At 1012 C Street

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The YWCA of San Diego County’s vision is to provide collaborative leadership to allied agencies seeking to meet the long-term needs of victims of family violence and their children while also providing direct services to homeless and victimized women and children. The vision includes the renovation and re-use of the historic 90 year old YWCA Main Building at 1012 C Street in downtown San Diego.

YWCA of San Diego County Adds New Transitional Housing Program For Domestic Violence Survivors And Their Families

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The YWCA of San Diego County is set to open the much-anticipated Becky's House® 2, an 18-month transitional housing program for survivors of domestic violence and their children, on Oct. 11, 2007. Domestic violence is a growing problem in San Diego County, and the Becky's House® programs of the YWCA of San Diego provide the critical, transitional care women need to become self-sufficient and prepare for a life free of violence for their families.
