My Sister's Closet, a project of the YWCA, offers two great ways for
you to participate:

shop
The store is a great place to find unusual gifts, pieces of furniture and clothing. All proceeds are used to support YWCA programs and facilities.

donate
The YWCA gladly accepts clean, gently-used clothing, accessories, a wide variety of household items, and furniture.

We generally accept a wide array of items. These are the following items we cannot accept:

• Computers, computer monitors, and other computer accessories that are not new in packaging
• Broken electronics such as broken TV's, stereos, & microwaves
• Mattresses
• BBQ's
• VHS players or VHS tapes
• Cassette tapes
• Magazines
• Particle board furniture
• Metal file cabinets and similar office furniture
• Large appliances (unless one of our shelters is in need of one...only then can we accept working large appliances as requested and approved by our shelter staff.)
• Anything that is in disrepair, dirty, molded, and past the "gently used" point, as determined by YWCA- My Sister's Closet staff.
  
  Please keep in mind that we must pay to dispose of any items we cannot directly use in our shelters or resell in our thrift store.

Directions

• Take either the Washington St. or University Ave. exits from the 5 South or
• 163 South freeways.
• Go west from the 163 South or go east from the 5 South.
• Turn south (toward downtown) on 4th Ave.
• Turn left on Brookes.
• Make an immediate right into the alley.
• Turn into the 2nd parking lot on the left-hand side with the high fence.
• Look for the YWCA sign on the alley wall.
