Please Join Us for the 12th Annual In the Company of Women event to be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the Grande Ballroom at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina! This year’s Keynote Speaker is Author Leslie Morgan Steiner and Kimberly Hunt of Channel 10 News will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. The event raises money to support the YWCA’s programs and services for survivors of domestic violence and homelessness, including Becky’s House®. We are so grateful to receive a grant from Price Charities in the amount of $50,000. If we can raise another $50,000 to match this amount, Price Charities will donate another $50,000 to us! In celebration of YWCA USA’s 150th anniversary, we invite you and your friends to join millions of OWN IT women across America who are determined to take charge of their lives and communities, and make the world a safer and more just place for all peoples. Working together, we will transform communities across the country by exercising our collective power and energy to empower women and eliminate racism. We lend our rich history and legacy of accomplishments to our new Own It campaign to unite all women, but especially women ages 18-30 to get more involved in supporting their local YWCA.

The Mary Kay Foundation was created in 1996 and its mission is two-fold: to fund research of cancers affecting women and help prevent domestic violence while raising awareness of the issue. Since the Foundation's inception, it has awarded nearly $22 million to shelters and programs addressing domestic violence and $13 million to cancer researchers and related causes throughout the United States. The Mar Dels Christmas Benefit
The YWCA would like to thank The Mar Dels and the Belly Up Tavern for so generously partnering up to support the YWCA’s Becky’s House® Domestic Violence Programs. The Mar Dels Christmas Show, held at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, was a huge success and proceeds from the event went to support the families of the YWCA’s Becky’s House®!
