Stand Against Racism 2022

Stand Against Racism is an annual campaign of YWCA USA to bring awareness to racism within our communities and build pathways toward racial equity and justice. The campaign creates an intentional space to educate our community, advocate for people of color, and promote effective solutions.

From April 28 to May 1, join partners across the nation in this year’s theme of We Can’t Wait: Equity and Justice Now. Together, we can place a spotlight on the harmful impacts of longstanding, systemic racism and strengthen community among those who are committed to realizing an equitable world for all.

Take Action

Get involved by attending events, engaging your legislators, sharing information with your community, and joining the conversation online:

  • Join us on Thursday, April 28 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET for a virtual event with Dr. Bernice A. King, CEO of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, and Margaret Mitchell, CEO of YWCA USA. Register today for an insightful discussion about systemic racism and inequities among communities of color.
  • Tell your Senator to swiftly pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act today.
  • Tell your members of Congress to finally declare racism a public health crisis.
  • Take the pledge to stand against racism today and every day.
  • Read YWCA USA’s Racial Justice Toolkit, share it with your friends and family, and engage them in meaningful dialogue.
  • Attend an in-person or virtual event near you. Check out YWCA USA’s event list to see what’s happening in your community.
