Survivor and child

We are incredibly honored to be recognized by MacKenzie Scott, author, advocate and philanthropist, with a generous gift to strengthen our programs for domestic violence survivors. In her announcement of extraordinary support for 384 organizations working to provide vital services and alleviate suffering, she writes that our hopes are fed by others. And we certainly agree.

As she transfers her wealth to organizations serving vulnerable populations, she shares her power to create life-changing impact in our communities. It is heartwarming and inspiring to see her selfless dedication and thoughtful approach to helping such a diverse array of programs across the country, many that are often less visible to others.

During this year of darkness, MacKenzie Scott reminds us of the light of hope. We are so grateful to earn her trust and confidence. Her gift will advance our work to ensure adult and children survivors gain life-saving protection, recover from trauma, obtain economic and housing stability, and achieve lasting independence — free from violence and abuse. With an ongoing urgent and increasing need, Ms. Scott gives hope to survivors.

Congratulations to all of the beneficiaries of her remarkable generosity, including our sister YWCAs, Goodwill Industries of San Diego County, Meals on Wheels San Diego County, and The San Diego Foundation, all delivering exceptional services for our communities.
