Amid the fireworks, parades, and familiar tributes to the founders, one question lingers: when we tell the story of this country, whose story do we choose to tell — and whose do we leave out?
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, YWCA held our 26th annual In the Company of Women luncheon and Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) Awards to celebrate the strength, courage, and spirit of women and their extraordinary achievements. Sara Moser was a self-described activist, political junky, teacher, and homemaker who we honored with the YWCA Dedication Award in 2017 to recognize her steadfast advocacy for women. Her personal journey of activism began at the League of Women Voters in the mid-1950s.
Until Justice Just Is, an initiative of YWCA USA, honors 250 years of the American democratic experiment while exposing inequities, uplifting the struggle for access to the ballot, and advocating for a future where every American’s vote is protected, valued, and accessible.
